What is our Way of Life?

Pastor Jason & Julie Ouellette

Jason Ouellette is the third pastor of Way of Life Church. He has served in various ministry roles the past 18 years in both a small town and the big city. Until now his focus was primarily youth.

In January of 2015 Jason and Julie felt like the Lord was preparing them for a major shift in their ministry. Julie had led the music ministry at the church she grew up in for years, and knew that season had come to an end. The shift God had in store was to Way of Life.

Their passion is to lead a church of people in love with Jesus Christ, people that have a faith that works: a faith that is evident to everyone around them. They believe that God has brought them to Pflugerville to build Way of Life into a church where everyone walks with the savior (KNOW GOD), walks in His will (FIND FREEDOM), and gets engaged in the work (MAKE a DIFFERENCE).

A long time ago God spoke to His people, and He told them to write down the vision and the answer He had given them.

He told them to make it plain so that a runner could read it and carry the correct message to others.*

We believe the Lord has given us a vision for our church.

We want it to be clear and concise so that as we run this race we can read it, and share it with others.

Help us fulfill the vision!

Habakkuk 2:2

It is near impossible to list all that we value and believe in a website, but we have tried to share our strongest beliefs including the ones people often ask about. We hope that you can clearly see we are passionate about the Word of God and how it reveals itself in our lives.

We also are a proud member of the United Pentecostal Church International.

Denominations sometimes get a bad rap in our culture, but by being a part we have found the support and accountability we need.

  • God

We believe in ONE eternally existing God who created all things and by whom all things exist. God has revealed Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit throughout time, but without division of nature, essence or being.

    Deuteronomy 6:4; John 1:1-14; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; John 10:30

  • Salvation

Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is a gift of God and cannot be earned or purchased by man. However, we acknowledge that many have taken that biblical promise and inserted their own definition of faith. Saving faith is a biblical faith that includes both accepting Him as savior AND obeying Him as Lord. Everyone who believes upon the Lord should begin by obeying the disciple's instruction at the inception of the church: repentance, water baptism, and Holy Spirit baptism.

  • Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified on Calvary's cross for our sins, and rose from the dead. Through His death, burial, resurrection, and return as our comforter we have personal salvation and power for victorious living in this life.

  • The Bible

We believe the Bible is the Inspired Word of God. The Holy Bible is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. We accept the Scriptures as the Final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

    2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26

  • The church

We believe the church has been called out of the world to be a group of people who follow Jesus Christ fully and love one another sacrificially. We believe the church, through the power of the Holy Spirit, is called to affect genuine spiritual change in the community. We believe the local church is the hope of the world! The church is called to be one group of people made up of many members, all using their talents and abilities for the cause of Christ.

  • Holy Living

Living a life that is set apart from the World is God's desire for His people. We may stumble along our path, but as born-again believers, we should always pursue a life of purity and righteousness. This is an ongoing process and it is through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God that the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

  • Holy Spirit Baptism

We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in the world today and that the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues is the privilege and promise of all believers.

    Mark 1:7-8; John 14:16-18; Acts 1:5, 8, 2:1-4, 38-39, 4:31, 8:17, 10:44-45, 19:6

  • Repentance

We believe that all people are called to repent. Repentance is a commitment to turn away from sin in every area of our lives and to follow Jesus fully.

    Acts 2:38; 17:30; Matthew 3:1-2; Isaiah 55:7-7

  • Water Baptism

We believe that every believer is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the Name of the Jesus. Water baptism is a physical act of obedience that identifies with Jesus is his death and burial. We are buried (submerged) in water baptism, so that we may (like Jesus was risen from the dead) can rise to walk in a new life.
